Biography

Rob is a seasoned sports and Olympic marketing professional with an award-winning track record in experiential marketing, brand development, sponsorships, contesting, production, hosting, hospitality, and executions at prestigious events. His experience includes leading activations and campaigns at multiple Summer and Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as working with blue-chip sports properties like the NHL, Leafs, Raptors, Argos, CFL, NFL, NBA, Indy Racing, Calgary Stampede, Rodeo Tours, music festivals, and others.

Rob has a long history of collaborating with professional and amateur athletes, celebrity personalities, and intellectual properties such as DreamWorks, Marvel, Hulk, Shrek, Madagascar, Simon Whitfield, Catriona LeMay Doan, Alexandre Despatie, Wayne Gretzky, and Mike Holmes. Known for being a team player, creative thinker, and problem solver, Rob excels in orchestrating on-site programs, tailored VIP hospitality, and immersive brand-aligned experiences, always aiming for unique and curated moments at events linked to brand strategies.

His first Olympic hospitality experience was leading Molson Canadian’s hosting of the Canadian Men’s and Women’s basketball teams in Sydney for the 2000 Olympic Games. His subsequent roles in hosting, hospitality, production, and execution included on-the-ground experiences at the Salt Lake (2002), Athens (2004), Torino (2006), and Beijing (2008) Games. Although just an attendee at the 2010 Games in Vancouver, Rob later became the Director of Marketing for the Canadian Olympic Committee for the London (2012) and Sochi (2014) Games. He was a key marketing force behind the Canadian Marketing Award-winning brand campaign “Give Your Everything,” which included the complete rebranding of the COC in 2012.

Rob subsequently became a client lead for the Canadian Paralympic Committee for both the Tokyo (2020) and Beijing (2022) Paralympic Games, before joining ATPI in his current role as a client lead and program manager for the upcoming Paris 2024 Games.

Travel Destination That Has Impressed Him the Most

Rob was lucky enough to discover Turks and Caicos by accident when booking a sell-off vacation at a young age. It is still a place he loves to visit with its unparalleled, clear turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and amazing island friendliness and hospitality. There aren’t many places in the world where you can be up to your shoulders in the ocean and still see your feet, but Turks and Caicos offers just that.

Dream Travel Destination

Rob dreams of visiting Egypt, Jerusalem, the Maldives, and the Seychelles. However, he truly dreams of visiting everywhere he hasn’t been, always seeking new adventures and experiences.

Favorite Olympic Discipline

Oddly enough, Rob loves watching European Handball. In his youth, he fell in love with the sport in high school and was lucky enough to win a few provincial championships, representing Ontario on the provincial team for several years. He was briefly a member of the Canadian European Handball Team before he blew out his ACL, a “could have been” story that still resonates with him.
