Throughout her professional career and personal life, Laura has explored a variety of industries and practiced a variety of skills. Through this, she has found that her expertise is in event planning, data management systems, accreditation operations and executing events on site.
Laura is Project Manager at ATPI Canada working across sports events and corporate events. She acts as the primary point of contact for the Back Office Team and liaises with suppliers in Canada and the Olympic/Paralympic host country. She manages the Accommodation inventory, assists with operations of our registration management system and executes on site project management where required.
Out of school, Laura interned and held part-time positions with Maple Leafs Sport & Entertainment. Next, she worked for multiple Organizing Committees in the multi-sport Games world such as Toronto 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games, Invictus Games Toronto 2017 and Invictus Games Sydney 2018, where she focused on Accreditation Operations. In between this, she worked at a media company as a Digital Performance Specialist before getting back into the event world. In 2018, Laura worked with ATPI on a contract basis for the Pyeongchang2018 project, which eventually led to her current role with ATPI.
Which travel destination has impressed you the most and why? Thailand. Between the delicious street food, exciting Muay Thai fights, stunning beaches and temples, and boat rides, it is hard to choose my favourite part of this country!
Which travel destination do you dream of and why? Austria, where I would love to snowboard on the Alps
Which Olympic discipline appeals to you the most and why? Alpine Skiing because of the incredible speed that the athletes reach.
What do you prefer most in events and why? I love the feeling of togetherness and emotion that events bring – whether that is cheering on your favourite sports team, jamming out to an electric concert or listening to a motivational speaker – experiencing that joy with hundreds of other people, is special.
