Mathieu Marois

General manager

Biography

Mathieu Marois has 30 years of experience in the travel market and has held various positions in all facets of the industry. A skilled negotiator, he also has important experience in business growth, both in business development and acquisitions.

As General Manager of ATPI Canada, he elaborated, implemented, and developed the Canadian division of the multinational company. He works on the development of the Sports Events vision and establishes the Corporate Travel and Corporate Events divisions in the country.

His career in the travel and hospitality industry began in his collegiate years at 5 Seasons/Ski-Fo and New World Rafting, where he improved his skills in supplier management and travel logistics with thousands of students. In 1997, he joined Sportvac as Vice President Sales and Marketing. He then combined several passions (skiing, golf, F1) in addition to developing sales, products and markets such as incentive travel and conventions. In 2001, on the evening of his thirtieth birthday, the idea of creating a start-up in the field of travel arose. VOBE was born 15 days later. This adventure was an opportunity to recreate, through numerous company acquisitions, a one-stop-shop tour operator for schools, companies, skiers, and families.

In 2016, he joined the team of Vision Voyages (a division of Direct Travel) with the challenge of developing the field of business ticketing of this largest Canadian tour operator. In 2017, he took over the general management of the new Canadian division of the multinational company ATPI. Within hours of taking office, ATPI and Direct Travel formalized a global partnership agreement creating ATPI DIRECT Global.
